They’re both funny and mildly terrifying.
That guy is damn lucky that he didn’t get shot.
Absolutely monstrous columns arrived on site earlier this week. Hard to tell scale, but those are 16 ” tubes that are 17’-4” tall. The flanges are all over an inch thick. The base plate is ~30” across in each direction.
Then again they are supporting these big ole 55 ’ valley beams...

Catholic Church and school. Those are the main pieces of steel for the church. It’s not a very big church capacity wise, but it’s about 53’ tall at its highest point.

That press release isn’t bad for being written by a cop. Only a few errors, and it isn’t completely written in what I called “report speak. ” Back w hen I was working as a paralegal doing misdemeanor prosecutions , I hated report speak. Countless times I got criminal complaints that were basically unintelligible between the report speak and the errors. I had a lot of phone conversations with cops that went along the lines of “ yes, I’ve got the complaint in front of me, but tell me in your own words what happened. ” After figuring out what actually happened, I’d write up an amended criminal complaint that both made sense and charged the defendant with the correct offenses.
